DELAND – A 28-year-old Deltona man previously convicted after jury trial on January 12, 2016 was sentenced today, March 2, 2016 to 20 years in a state prison facility for 13 felony counts of possession of child pornography. Christopher A. Walls, formerly of Landover Avenue, will be placed on 15 years of sex-offender probation following his release date in the mid 2030’s.

During September 2013, investigators discovered that Christopher A. Walls was using file-sharing software to download and view pornographic images and videos of children as young as 3 years old. Investigators executed a search warrant on the defendant’s home and found several illicit videos and images. Walls had no prior criminal history before his sentencing today.

The collection and distribution of child pornography promotes the recruitment and sexual exploitation of our children,” State Attorney R.J. Larizza said following the sentencing, “we will continue to seek lengthy prison sentences for these offenders.”

Assistant State Attorney Jeanne Stratis, of the Career Criminal Unit prosecuted the case. Circuit Judge Raul Zambrano presided over the case and pronounced sentence.
