I have spent nearly 20 years as a State Prosecutor during which I served more than 14 years as your elected State Attorney.  We must keep our communities safe, obtain justice for victims and hold law breakers fully accountable for their crimes.  I know that not everyone who is arrested is guilty and that the Constitutional protections afforded to all citizens are the cornerstone of our individual freedoms.

This site is dedicated to all of the citizens of the Seventh Judicial Circuit.  If you are a crime victim, family member or friend of a victim, a witness, or other interested citizen, this site will help you to better understand how our Office and the criminal justice system works.  If you want to report a crime, suspicious activity or dangerous conduct, you can call any of our offices.

The Office of the State Attorney handles over 45,000 cases each year, including felonies and misdemeanors.  Our staff of more than 80 lawyers, 22 investigators, 16 Victim Advocates/Witness Coordinators and 93 support staff is dedicated to protecting the rights of our citizens and bringing criminals to justice.  This is a tough business and we are proud of the trust and confidence of our citizens and of the law enforcement community.  We make hard decisions everyday, guided by the law, the Constitution, our experience and common sense.  Our office motto is "Do The Right Thing".
