John Lytus Pleads Guilty to Second Degree Murder, Sentenced to 45 Years

DAYTONA BEACH – John Lytus plead guilty today, January 11, 2016, to the charges of Second Degree Murder, Aggravated Battery with a Deadly Weapon, Kidnapping, and two counts of Resisting an Officer with Violence. Lytus, 52, was sentenced to 45 years in a state prison facility.

After extensive discussions with John Lytus’s victims, the family of the young woman he murdered, and after consultation with our law enforcement partners, it was determined that a negotiated sentence would spare these women from having to endure a traumatic trial experience. The community can breathe a collective sigh of relief now that John Lytus has been sentenced.
