DAYTONA BEACH – A 28-year-old New Smyrna Beach man accused of killing his grandmother has been ruled incompetent to stand trial. In a hearing today, September 22, 2015, Circuit Judge Frank Marriott reviewed reports of both State and defense experts in making the determination. Patrick Christopher Campbell will be transferred to a State hospital in order to restore competency for future proceedings.
Because this is an ongoing matter, this office will have no further comment at this time.
