Three Volusia County Men Indicted on Murder Charges

DELAND – The Volusia County Grand Jury heard three different cases today.

The first case was that of Jerome Anderson. The defendant is accused of shooting and killing three men inside/near his Daytona Beach home on July 12, 2023.

The second case was that of Mckenzy Nazien. The Young Guns defendant, who was 19 years old at the time, is accused of shooting and killing another young man, 22, on September 1, 2022, at a Port Orange apartment complex.

The last case was that of Arthur Harris III. The defendant is accused of selling a woman fentanyl in December 2022, which she later took and died of an overdose.

The indictments were handed down on Wednesday. Anderson was indicted for three counts of First-Degree Murder and Possession of Firearm by Convicted In-State Felon. Nazien was indicted for First-Degree Murder and Attempted First-Degree Murder. Harris was indicted for Death by Unlawful Distribution of Controlled Substance and Sale of Fentanyl.

Assistant State Attorney Andrew Urbanak is the state prosecutor for the cases against Anderson and Nazien. Assistant State Attorney Sarah Thomas is the state prosecutor for the case against Harris.
