Simpson convicted of two counts of lewd and lascivious battery on a minor

PALATKA – Today, a Putnam County jury deliberated for 90 minutes before convicting Charles Wendell Simpson, 48, of two counts of Lewd and Lascivious Battery on a Minor. Simpson will be sentenced at a hearing on October 2nd by Judge Howard O. McGillin, Jr.

In April 2016, the two child victims were under the care of Simpson when he had sexual intercourse with one victim and inappropriately touched them both. The child victims courageously told their guardians of what occurred and subsequently reported it to the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office.

Assistant State Attorney Sharleen Sullivan prosecuted the case and Judge McGillin presided over the case.
