Gregory Ramos was indicted by the Volusia Grand Jury on one count of first degree murder punishable by a life sentence subject to judicial review.
The codefendants, 17-year-old Dylan Ceglarek, and 17-year-old Brian Porras, were charged by information with being accessories after the fact of a first degree murder. These are punishable by 30 years in prison.
The State Attorney, R.J. Larizza has this to say about the decisions, “I’m surprised, I’m shocked, I’m bewildered by the fact we’re in a position to have to prosecute a 15-year-old for murdering his mother.”
