Deltona Man Convicted of Possessing 51 Images of Child Porn; Gets 75 Years
DELAND – A Deltona man was convicted on 51 counts of possession of child pornography today, December 15, 2015, after a trial by jury. Allen M. Boyd, 32, was sentenced immediately after trial to 75 years in a state prison facility. The Volusia County Jury deliberated just 29 minutes before returning the guilty verdicts on the fifty one-count verdict form.
On August 26, 2013, FDLE agents served a search warrant on the Dumas Drive home of Boyd. Agents seized a computer belonging to Boyd, finding 51 images/videos depicting child pornography. Boyd’s only criminal history was a prior conviction for misdemeanor domestic battery.
“People who view, download, and share child pornography encourage and participate in the sexual exploitation of our children,” State Attorney R.J. Larizza stated following the conviction, “this sentence reflects the severity of these crimes and helps eliminate insidious elements from our communities.”
Assistant State Attorney Jeanne Stratis, of the State Attorney’s Career Criminal Unit, prosecuted the case. Seventh Circuit Judge Raul Zambrano presided over the case and pronounced sentence.
