PALATKA - Lozzario Smith went to trial in December and was found guilty of Armed Burglary of an Occupied Dwelling, Improper Exhibition of a Firearm, and Possession of a Firearm by Convicted Felon.
Smith will spend the next 40 years in a state prison facility, with the first 15 being a minimum-mandatory sentence, meaning he will serve the sentence day-for-day.
Assistant State Attorney Rebecca Emert prosecuted the case and Circuit Judge Clyde Wolfe pronounced sentence.
