Shawn Doolan Enters Plea to DUI Manslaughter Charge, Sentencing Set
DAYTONA BEACH – A New Smyrna Beach Man plead no contest to the charge of DUI Manslaughter today, July 13, 2015, stemming from the June 24, 2014 crash that killed Elizabeth Braly, A North Carolina woman who was on vacation in Daytona Beach Shores with her family. Doolan, who will be sentenced in front of Circuit Judge Terence Perkins in October, faces a maximum possible penalty of 15 years in a state prison facility.
Assistant State Attorney Megan Upchurch prosecuted the case. Seventh Circuit Judge Terence Perkins will preside over a sentencing hearing to be set in late October.
Due to the fact that this is a pending case, this office will reserve comment until the sentencing hearing date.
