 Port Orange Man Convicted of Sex Crimes Against Children

 

DAYTONA BEACH – A Volusia County Jury, comprised of 4 men and 2 women, deliberated just 1 hour and 7 minutes before convicting Shane Cheyanne Floyd, 30, of 3 counts of capital sexual battery on a child and 1 count of lewd and lascivious molestation on a child. Floyd faces a mandatory life sentence without the possibility of parole at a sentencing hearing to be set next week. 

            From January 1, 2013 – January 4, 2015, Shane Cheyanne Floyd, of Port Orange, perpetrated horrific sex crimes against two children. Floyd has prior misdemeanor convictions including DUI and Driving on Suspended License. 

            Assistant State Attorneys Andrew Urbanak and Erica Kane, of the State Attorney’s Career Criminal Unit, prosecuted the case. Circuit Judge Joseph G. Will presided over the case and will pronounce sentence at hearing to be set next week.
